Paul Robinson
Musical Director, Arranger and Producer
Paul is a graduate of the prestigious Royal Academy of Music, where he studied Jazz. He has been a professional session electric bass player, pianist, composer, arranger and producer for over 20 years. Over the years, Paul has worked with the likes of Keane, Simon Le Bon, Katie Melua and Russel Watson.
His passion for jazz and jazz fusion has had an huge influence on his composing and arranging style, making him an ideal fit for Songs I Want To Play. His other project, The Angry Men is a contemporary jazz fusion ensemble that also includes some of the Songs I Want To Play line up. Paul is also a Lecturer in Popular Music Performance at The University of Salford.
Adelina Court
Animation Director
Adelina is an illustrator, animator and director with a background in architectural design. She started her illustration work in urban sketching, then moved into book illustration and digital design.
These days she works mostly in animation for music video and short film. Her latest short film, Songs of the City (2020), has been commissioned by BBC Arts and has screened at festivals such as Manchester Animation Festival, Bolton International Festival, and OnArt Poland. Alongside her practice, she is also a design lecturer at the University of Salford, Manchester.
Phil Brown
Creator
Phil is a pianist, band leader and head of an event management company. His specialism is turning blueprints and ideas into reality (with Songs I Want to Play being a classic example of this.) He has led and worked with hundreds of musicians throughout the UK during the last fifteen years and was a founder member of Songs I Want to Play.
Much of the work Phil performs happens behind the scenes and the day today running the project, however, he is also responsible for the video editing process and works closely with our animation specialist Adelina in the latter stages of production before the videos are released.
